Financial Advisor – Investments (Islamic Finance Specialist)
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Financial Advisor – with Investment experience, and proven experience in Islamic Finance and Shari’ah-compliant investment solutions. This role is ideal for an advisor who understands both mainstream investment products and the specialised requirements of clients seeking ethical, faith-aligned wealth management.
The role is both sales- and relationship-driven, requiring strong product knowledge, exceptional client engagement abilities, strict adherence to regulatory compliance and Islamic Finance principles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Investment Advisory & Shari’ah-Compliant Client Consultation
- Conduct in-depth needs analyses and gather comprehensive financial information.
- Provide expert investment advice aligned with client goals, risk profiles, and Islamic Finance principles.
- Develop financial plans and investment proposals using approved tools and platforms.
- Regularly review both conventional and Shari’ah-compliant client portfolios and recommend adjustments based on market shifts or life events.
- Sales & Business Development
- Source and grow a client base, with a focus on markets engaging in Islamic Finance and ethical investment products.
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall business objectives.
- Promote Shari’ah-compliant private equity / alternative investment offerings.
- Attend prospecting events, Islamic Finance investment seminars, and community engagement functions where required.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships within the Islamic Finance market and broader client base.
- Deliver ongoing communication, portfolio updates, and reviews.
- Collaborate with internal specialists (risk, tax, estate planning) to provide holistic financial solutions.
- Handle client queries and account changes with professionalism and care.
- Regulatory & Shari’ah Compliance
- Ensure full adherence to FAIS, FICA, and internal FSP compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of advice, Risk Profile Assessments and needs analyses.
- Comply with all requirements relevant to Islamic Finance governance, including product suitability and Shari’ah guidelines.
- Stay up to date with legislation, market movements, Islamic Finance developments and product enhancements.
- Continuous Professional Development
- Meet all Fit and Proper requirements as per FSCA guidelines.
- Attend training sessions, Islamic Finance product launches, and regulatory updates.
- Remain current with financial markets, economic trends, and ethical investment industry developments.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of investment products, financial planning principles, and Islamic Finance investment structures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Sales-oriented with the ability to close deals and build trust.
- Proficient in needs analysis, portfolio construction, and compliance processes.
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Independent, goal-driven, and self-motivated.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) – Required.
- RE5 Certificate – Advantageous; must be obtained within 2 years of DOFA.
- Class of Business: Investments – Completed or in progress.
- NQF Level 5/6 in Wealth Management or related field –
- FSCA Registration as a Representative under an FSP – Required.
- 2 – 5 years’ experience as a Financial Advisor or in investment sales, with demonstrable Islamic Finance experience (non-negotiable).
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
KPIs & Performance Metrics
- Achievement of monthly and quarterly investment sales targets.
- Growth and retention of clients, particularly within the Islamic Finance market.
- Positive Compliance audit results.
- Quality and accuracy of advice documentation.
- Lead conversion and client engagement metrics.
- Timely submissions of advice, compliance, and reporting documents.

You will be responsible for originating and managing new business, achieving agreed targets, and driving sustainable profit growth, while ensuring the ongoing retention and satisfaction of Qantara’s client base through ethical, Sharīʿah-aligned advisory services.
